Opus 7 is one of Seattle’s most critically acclaimed choirs, known for performing at “the highest level of artistry” and “one of the most esteemed musical groups anywhere” (Seattle Times, Seattle P-I).
Opus 7’s March concert “Show Us Your Mercy” is a powerful collection of choral music for the Lenten season. The concert will feature music for choir and virtuosic soloists Page Smith, cello; and Ervin-Luka Sešek, violin; two works for choir and percussion with Karen Sunmark, and several 16th-17th-century works for choir and continuo including organist Wyatt Smith. Opus 7 also performs Seattle Composer Peter Hallock’s “Rachel’s Lament” with mezzo-soprano Kathryn Weld, handbells and choir. Loren Pontén conducts this annual concert for the penitential season of Lent.
