Opus 7 sings music about TIME: hard times, good times, times of morning and evening, seasons of the year, and celebrating the time of living.Selections include Time Pieces by Stephen Chatman, “First Dance: Time” from Gloriana Dances by Benjamin Britten, Design for October by Irving Fine, Even Such is Time by Herbert Howells, Autumn Night by Stefan Arason, First Day of Spring by Mendelssohn, My Spirit Sang all Day by Gerald Finzi, The Road Home by Stephen Paulus, Hard Times by Craig Hella Johnson, and Ain’t Got Time to Die by Hall Johnson. As a special commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Zoltán Kodály’s death, we will sing Este (Evening) and Akik mindig elkésnek (Too Late). We are especially excited to sing the world premiere of Singing Together by John Muehleisen, which was commissioned for Opus 7 by Jill Clymer to celebrate her 20 years of singing with Opus 7.
